The Wang Dang Doodle Variety Show at 7Stages

March 17th, 7 Stages Theatre debuts a variety show for the 21st century. Jon Waterhouse’s Wang Dang Doodle Variety Talk Show takes the classic variety format and spikes it with contemporary craziness.

Think “The Tonight Show” meets “The Gong Show” without the gong. Jon Waterhouse, a regular entertainment journalist for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and radio personality on AM 1690, The Voice of the Arts, wrangles the evening.

The premiere installment of Wang Dang Doodle will feature:

  • Dave Stone - Acclaimed stand-up comic and co-founding member of The Beards of Comedy Tour.
  • The Booze - This band rocks equal parts British Invasion, Chess-era blues and hook-laden ’60s pop.
  • Tim Monteith - Delivers a bizarre mix of puppetry, lip synch, dance and drag.
  • Flight of Swallows - Circus aerial artistry meets live musical accompaniment.
  • Danger Woman - The self-proclaimed Karaoke Songbird of Justice uses her Tiny Tim-inspired voice to rattle the eardrums of bad guys across the universe.
  • Brad McGinty - Presents an original animated short.
  • Celeste Miller – Atlanta legendary “talking dancer” premiers her new piece The Annunciation…sort of: Mary says “No" at 7 Stages March 24 – 28, 2010.
  • The Little Five Points Rock Star Orchestra plugs in as the house band.

8 p.m. March 17. $10. 7 Stages Theatre, Mainstage, 1105 Euclid Ave. N.E., Atlanta. Tickets may be purchased by calling 404-523-7647 or by visiting www.7stages.org.

Inaugural Performance At Bang! Arts Launch Party

On Friday, February 19, 2010, Deisha Oliver, Mario Schambon, Sacha Dzuba and Sadie Hawkins joined forces at the Bang! Arts Launch Party, which was also a fundraiser for Eyedrum. Below are videos of three of the four improv performances we did during the evening. The final one was a strip.
